Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager, the Facilities Engineer will provide technical support to campus MEP systems.
The role will support the maintenance team assisting with troubleshooting and repair of complex systems. Provides specialty consultant oversight and assists with turnover / commissioning of MEP projects.
This position requires a great deal of interaction with internal stakeholders as every person within the Facilities team plays a vital role in the successful operation of HMS Campus.
The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to.
- Investigate and analyze failures in building mechanical systems to identify Root Causes. Provide recommendations for repairs and system upgrades to prevent future failures
- Evaluate building MEP systems and provide recommendations to strengthen system reliability and energy efficiency
- Analyze potential risks related to critical building systems and infrastructure. Develop and propose risk mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement MEP test plans and SOP's for internal stakeholders
- Participate in turnover and commissioning of new mechanical systems in partnership with the Controls / Applications Engineer
- Evaluate and recommend alternate obsolete parts, recommend listing of critical spare parts.
- Support consultants with reliability assessments including data collection and failure mode analysis
- Provide technical support during planned and unplanned utility system outages and shutdowns.
- Support day to day operations with resolution to stakeholders’ questions, inquiries and concerns, code interpretation and engineering solutions
