JobDescription :
We are seeking anexperienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our ITteam. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the performanceintegrity and security of our Oracle databases.
This role includesdatabase maintenance monitoring troubleshooting and ensuring theavailability of the database systems. The ideal candidate will havea deep understanding of Oracle database architecture strongproblemsolving skills and the ability to work collaboratively withthe IT team to support business operations.
KeyResponsibilities :
- DatabaseManagement : Install configure and maintain Oracledatabase instances ensuring high availability performance andreliability of the databasesystems.
- PerformanceTuning : Monitor database performance and identifybottlenecks or inefficiencies. Perform tuning and optimization toimprove database performance and minimizedowntime.
- Backup andRecovery : Develop implement and manage backup andrecovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Perform regular backups restorations and disaster recoverytests.
SecurityManagement : Implement and manage database securityprotocols including user access controls encryption andvulnerability assessments.
Ensure compliance with industrystandards and companypolicies.
- DataMigration : Plan and execute data migrations upgradesand patches with minimal disruption to business operations. Ensuredata consistency and integrity throughout theprocess.
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve databaserelated issues including systemcrashes performance problems and data . Provide timely support toaddress criticalincidents.
- Automation andScripting : Develop and maintain automation scriptsto streamline database management tasks including backupsmonitoring and performancetuning.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the development and IT operations teams to designimplement and support database solutions that meet businessrequirements.
Provide guidance on database bestpractices.
- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurationsprocesses and procedures. Ensure that all changes are documentedand comply with change managementpolicies.
- CapacityPlanning : Monitor database storage usage and planfor future capacity requirements. Ensure that databases arescalable and can handle increased workloads as the businessgrows.
- Compliance : Ensure that the databases adhere to legal and regulatoryrequirements including data privacy laws and industryspecificregulations.
- Mentorship : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior databaseadministrators and other IT staff.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or arelated field. Relevant certifications such as Oracle CertifiedProfessional (OCP) arepreferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DatabaseAdministrator with handson experience in Oracle 12c / 19c or laterversions.
- TechnicalSkills : Strong knowledge of Oracle databasearchitecture SQL PL / SQL RMAN Data Guard ASM and Oracle RAC.Experience with database performance tuning backup and recovery andsecuritymanagement.
- ProblemSolving : Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability toresolve complex database issues quickly andeffectively.
- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability toconvey technical information to both technical and nontechnicalstakeholders.
- Attention toDetail : High level of accuracy and attention todetail in managing database configurations andprocesses.
- TeamPlayer : Ability to work effectively in acollaborative team environment and support the broader ITfunction.
- Adaptability : Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multipletasks and projectssimultaneously.
- Availability : Willingness to participate in oncall rotation and provide supportduring nonbusiness hours asneeded.
