Position Overview : We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction, support, and resources to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
We are looking for a dynamic professional who is mitted to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, including setting academic and behavioral goals, selecting appropriate instructional strategies, and monitoring progress.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting curriculum materials and instructional methods to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the effective inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in general education settings and activities.
- Assess student progress and performance using a variety of assessment tools and methods, and use data to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
- Provide acmodations, modifications, and assistive technology to support student learning and access to the curriculum.
- Implement behavior management strategies and supports to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social-emotional development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, attendance, and services provided in pliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in professional development activities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and support the needs of students with disabilities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Kentucky teaching certification in Special Education (P-12) or eligibility for certification through the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB).
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Kentucky's special education regulations.
- Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and effective instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
- Excellent munication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
