Role Overview :
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to our Directed Energy projects. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems for our advanced electro-optical products.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Electrical, Optical, Firmware Design, and Manufacturing, to bring innovative EO products to life.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components for electro-optical products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs with electrical, optical, and firmware systems.
- Perform detailed analysis using FEA, CFD, and SolidWorks simulation tools, focusing on dynamics, structural, and thermal aspects.
- Lead the development of mechanical parts and assemblies for production, utilizing techniques such as machining and additive manufacturing.
- Ensure designs meet stringent requirements for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Contribute to system-level integration and testing of electro-optical devices.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the mechanical engineering team.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
A Ph.D. in a related field is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling using SolidWorks and experience with 2D tools like AutoCAD or Drafting.
- Strong experience with FEA, CFD, and SolidWorks simulation tools for dynamics, structural, and thermal analysis.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and properties.
- Proven experience in designing mechanical parts or assemblies for production, including machining and additive manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Experience in system-level integration of electro-optical devices is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with military or aerospace R&D projects is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.
