MAIN FUNCTION : Under supervision of the Manager of Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers, the Clinical Instructor will maintain a flexible schedule with the responsibility for facilitating instruction of both the Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting in-person and hybrid programs in the classroom and clinical setting as needed.
Assistant may supervise students at clinical sites, proctor students for national testing, and attend various open house / career fairs.
Perform clerical duties as necessary and have a high attention to detail and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :
- Instructional needs for on-campus and hybrid programs in both Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting.
- Proficient in clinical aspects of phlebotomy, medical assisting and always maintains a safe clinical environment.
- Oversees clinical externships for the Phlebotomy program at the Outpatient Labs as needed. Assists in Medical Assisting clinicals for GFP offices.
- Maintains responsibility for attendance / reliability to ensure that the Hospital is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals.
- Prepare syllables and outlines for each class
- Provide tutoring and maintain open dialog with student who may need extra help
- Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations.
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; responds to basic student questions.
Integrates technology throughout the curriculum.
EDUCATION : High school diploma or equivalent, certification in phlebotomy, medical assisting and / or CNA preferred.
EXPERIENCE : 5 years or more experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant.
