Summary of Job Duties : As Hamilton County's CAD / RMS Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily operation of CAD / RMS and associated software, ensuring smooth functioning within the Communications Center and affiliated agencies.
You'll also manage GIS software maintenance, provide informal CAD / RMS training, coordinate with local emergency services and vendors, and offer technical support for public safety.
- Assist in the daily operation of the Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management Systems (CAD / RMS) and related software applications;
- ensures compatibility and access required to make CAD / RMS functional for use in the Communications Center and associated agencies;
- performs routine daily and weekly database checks and diagnostics; provides hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting for the main CAD / RMS servers and workstations;
- coordinates with local Police, Fire, and EMS agencies to analyze and program resource dispatch requirements utilizing drawings, data, maps and records;
maintains daily relations with local Police, Fire and EMS agencies and vendors; attends meetings.
- Uses Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software to maintain local CAD map data and coordinates between CAD and CAGIS geographical data;
- investigates questions of geography including determination of political jurisdiction and new construction; determines operating condition of CAD / RMS files;
- coordinates with vendors to troubleshoot problems and takes appropriate action to ensure public safety; maintains system backups;
performs file maintenance for paging system, radio system, and various security files.
- Provides informal instructions for operation of CAD / RMS and their proper use; reports 911 data errors to telephone providers;
- operates CAD system and coordinates the files that interface the radio system and mapping with the CAD system; retrieves dispatch records from the CAD / RMS systems and uses voice logging equipment to retrieve phone and radio traffic to fulfill public information requests;
assists vendors with software and hardware upgrades.
- Assists in inventory and invoicing of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree (Public Safety, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field)
- and / or experience which indicates a comprehensive knowledge of management, regulatory requirements, communications, Computer Aided Dispatch, Radio and Paging Systems, Microsoft Sequal (SQL) Database Administration , virtual servers, Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
- demonstrable ability to manage others from an administrative level.
- Valid Driver's License issued by the state of residency
Licensures and Certifications :
APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator; must obtain RCIC, NCIC, LEADS, APCO Basic Telecommunications & EMD Certification upon employment
