Job Summary :
The University of Colorado School of Medicine Metabolomics Core utilizes high throughput mass spectrometry-based approaches to profile small molecule metabolites in diverse and complex biological samples.
We offer services in steady state profiling, in vitro and in vivo stable isotope tracing, absolute quantitation, and trace metal analysis.
Our research team has specific expertise in red blood cell / blood component metabolism, cancer metabolism, hypoxia and oxidative stress, and biochemical underpinnings of disease.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with and support the Metabolomics Core Manager and Director.
- Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques with an emphasis on liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- Perform experiments and tabulate and analyze data.
- Prepare reports of quantitative findings including statistical analysis.
- Maintain laboratory research records of all experiments performed.
- Support analytical testing processes and ensure quality control.
- Biomolecule extraction.
- Preparation and characterization of internal standard solutions.
- Method comparison and optimization.
- Maintenance of technical analytical equipment, including preparing buffers.
- Prepare lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, equipment, safety, cleanliness, and related areas.
- Pick up, transport, and maintain results, samples, documents, materials, and other items as needed.
- Dispose of laboratory materials and samples using well-established guidelines and instructions.
- Review, complete, and process logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information.
- Dissemination of results and assisting in generating publications.
- Oral and written presentation of technical results.
- Meet with clients (faculty, students, and researchers) to present the results of technical analyses
