Overview : We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Center / Cold Storage Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for data center and cold storage construction projects.

This role requires a thorough understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of these types of facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Responsibilities :

• Estimate Development :
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for data center and cold storage construction projects.
• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Identify and quantify all cost factors, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Bid Preparation :
• Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals that align with client requirements and company standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
• Ensure all bids are completed on time and in accordance with client specifications.
• Cost Analysis :
• Perform cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure estimates are competitive and realistic.
• Analyze historical data, including labor, material, and equipment costs, to support accurate estimating.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in project estimates.
• Vendor and Subcontractor Management :
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review and negotiate vendor and subcontractor contracts to ensure best value.
• Project Coordination :
• Work closely with project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and schedules.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of project activities to support efficient execution.
• Provide ongoing support and updates to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Documentation and Reporting :
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
• Prepare regular reports on estimating activities, including bid results and project costs.
• Track and report on project performance metrics, identifying any issues or areas for improvement.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on data centers and / or cold storage facilities.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis and benchmarking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction industry standards, building codes, and best practices related to data centers and cold storage facilities.
