Duties / Responsibilities :
- Greets and observes visitors during gallery open hours, assisting the visitor by answering their questions, directing them to other areas in the galleries and notifying staff when requested;
- protects the works of art, galleries, visitors, and staff; ensures that visitors to the galleries do not bring food, drinks, camera, large bags into the area;
makes certain visitors observe the no touch rule and maintain appropriate distance from the works of art.

Position Summary :
- Position provides security for the museum, galleries, works of art, staff and visitors; position is responsible for maintaining rules and order as pertains to cultural property protection;
- keeps accurate count of the number of visitors to the museum; ensures proper museum decorum is observed; monitors museum visitor parking lot;
makes visitors feel welcomed and assists as needed.
Relevant / Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position :
High school diplomas or GED
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :
Good communication skills and diplomacy a necessity; attention to detail helpful; punctuality and ability to maintain schedule necessary.
