The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a High Voltage Electrician (WG-2810-10) to join the team at the 87th Civil Engineering Squadron, Joint Base McGuire - Dix - Lakehurst, New Hanover, NJ.

In this position, you would install, modify, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electric power controlling equipment and / or distribution lines.

Apply Now!Hourly pay range $31.36- 36.57 Based on experience.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs, modifies, tests, repairs, and maintains transformers, converters, regulators, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic systems, and other circuit elements found in substations.
• Installs, modifies, connects, inspects, and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution lines.
• Troubleshoots distribution circuits and generating and controlling equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s)

Knowledge of technical practices in order to plan, layout, and complete maintenance or repair work needed for high voltage equipment and lines;

and of high voltage electrical equipment and distribution lines such as transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments, control systems, series and parallel, circuits, line loading, line losses.

• Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, instruments used in shop, and trade practices; and of troubleshooting and locating defects and trouble spots.
• Ability to install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain high voltage electric power-controlling equipment and / or distribution lines without more than normal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

• US Citizenship is required
• Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors.
• The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An Appropriate valid driver's license is required for the position.
