The ideal candidate for the Ancillary Account Manager position is someone who has experience working with ancillary (Dental, Vision, Life, Disability) products.
Essential Functions
Serves as the primary group level ancillary contact for day-to-day requests, account oversight and escalation for critical client service issues;
responding timely and accurately to ensure client satisfaction of assigned group
- Facilitate ancillary plan renewal process and assist with client employee meetings
- Assist in preparation of customer quotes by reviewing RFP’s and preparing quote information on spreadsheets
- Send out and process proposals from carriers, including analysis and comparison of premiums and contracts
- Review and update policies and other documents to ensure accuracy
- Complete implementation of new group / product line implementations and renewals
- Provide monthly and quarterly plan performance reports for all self-insured clients
- Resolve claim and technical issues for clients and their employees
- Manage individual policy application processes and renewals / lapsing policies
- Update clients on new legislation, regulations and issues
- Perform clerical duties associated with servicing our clients such as updating customer database and prospect information
- Data entry onto various carrier systems
- Assist with internal benefit administration system builds and renewals
- Work closely with other departments including Medical Account Management and Sales teams to insure client satisfaction

- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF
- Ability to take initiative, learn responsibilities quickly and develop operations and procedures
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills

- Demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and accuracy in all aspects of work / appearance / manners
- Ability to multitask and still meet deadlines with frequent interruptions

- Adaptable to a variety of management styles
Credentials / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required, College degree preferred
- 2+ years of professional experience Experience working with ancillary products required
- MI Life / Health& Accident Producer License required
