Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The ability to read the directions for the use and / or mixing of various cleaning chemicals and compounds and written instructions.
- Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various cleaning and set-up tasks.
- Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, use cleaning aids and equipment.
- Works with cleaning chemicals and compounds and polishing materials that may produce strong and / or offensive odors.
- May work in various weather conditions with extremes in heat and cold.
- Completion of a physical to verify the applicants ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Work sample to demonstrate the applicants ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications Previous custodial / janitorial experience is desirable. All Qualifications Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and / or experience deemed comparable and / or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
