Summary
This position is responsible for evaluating, planning, managing and executing industrial plumbing and piping projects. Communicating with internal support departments, representing CMS to the client or project sponsor, and ensuring safety, quality and profitability throughout project life cycles are keys to the success of this position.
Responsibilities
Prepare and revise estimates & proposals and present them to the clients. Follow up on open bids.
Send out bid information to vendors and sub-contractors to acquire pricing.
Evaluate sub-contractors and award work. Manage subcontractors.
Determine the necessary trades and headcount needed for a project.
Work with Workforce Management Department to schedule skilled tradesperson.
Track costs on projects and make sure they align with project estimate.
Develop product submittal documentation.
Put together closeout documents (O&M manuals).
Make site visits to jobs sites to track progress and ensure quality and correct installation
Support project field staff to enable them to successfully execute assigned project.
Coordinate as-built drawings on projects (some in house / some outsourced).
Identify and prepare change orders and negotiate with customers.
Apply for permits for jobs. Coordinate inspections for various projects.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (plan sets, blueprints, structural, P&ID, isometrics, elevations) and create take-offs from drawings and project documents.
2+ years of experience with project planning
Possess advanced knowledge and understanding of the plumbing trade.
Ability to read and understand plumbing and general construction documents.
Ability to create ISO's, P&ID's, and other hand sketches to communicate project needs to project partners and support departments.
Knowledge of general safety rules regarding LOTO, confined space, scaffolding, trenching, excavation, and fall protection.
Knowledge and understanding of plumbing codes, inspection process and licensing requirements.
