Real Estate Analytics Analyst
Job Description
The Real Estate Analytics Analyst is one of the key direct reports to the Manager of Analytics within Public Storage’s Real Estate division.
The Real Estate division is responsible for underwriting, financial planning and analysis, and accounting related to the company’s growing acquisitions, development, and redevelopment platform.
The Analytics Analyst position requires balancing technology and financial analysis to support data-driven insights and drive continuous process improvements to our investment decision-making.
The role will require strong acumen in working with a variety of software and database applications to develop analytical models, dashboards, and other tools that enhance all aspects of our investment and reporting process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Manager and eventually lead efforts on creating research and analytical tools that provide strategic recommendations on prospective investments, including acquisitions, development, redevelopment, and major capital expenditures
- Identify areas of process improvement and execute on projects to improve existing analytical methods and used in the real estate investment process, as well as for FP&A and reporting functions
- Leverage existing data, technology, and resources across the organization to improve real estate investment process and decision-making
- Drive technology and systems-based improvements across the organization, acting as a business project lead in collaboration with IT, data science, revenue management, and other stakeholders
- Analyze economic, industry, and company data to provide perspective on markets, trends, and other qualitative and quantitative insights that may impact investment decisions
- Develop ad-hoc / new analysis tailored to unique circumstances, with a focus on model and reporting design that can be consistently replicated and delegated
- Partner and collaborate with company leadership across all corporate functional areas
Qualifications
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics is preferred
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI or Tableau, and (optionally) Python, will be considered a strong asset.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Solid understanding of statistics and experience using statistical packages to analyze datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
- Very strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-driven, team-oriented and quick learning with an ability to proactively solve problems with a sharp analytical mind
- Result-oriented, demonstrating a proven track record of converting data-driven insights into successful strategies

Public Storage teammates are expected to work in the office five days each week with the option to take up to three flexible remote days per month.
