Job Summary :
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation of the delivery of care. This position is also responsible for providing individualized patient care to promote the restoration of health and achievement of patient health goals by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Correctly performs, records / completes appropriate documentation : vital signs, health screening tools, and other duties within scope of practice.
- Performs patient schedule and follow up appointments, as needed. Notifies patients of normal lab results and referral coordination as needed
- Assists with faxing records and documenting outcomes.
- Participates in performance improvement and quality control as instructed
- Performs blood / urine collections and waived lab testing independently and accurately
- Assists with lab procedures, tests, and processes within scope of practice.
- Assists in training new staff as needed and within scope of practice
- Maintains, organizes, and updates the electronic medical record.
- Retrieves MIIC (Minnesota Immunization Information Connection) data and enter historical immunizations.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment and disposes of contaminated supplies.
- Assures all biohazardous material are properly disposed.
- Organizes, cleans, and resupplies exam rooms during and between patient visits and at the end of the day.
- Organizes, cleans, and maintains the cleaning and sterilization area, as needed.
- Notifies appropriate staff of needed supplies and equipment
- Attends and participates in scheduled meetings.
- Participates in performance peer reviews.
- Reviews, understands, follows, and applies policies and procedures
- Behaves in a professional, courteous, and engaging manner in all interactions.
