Applies advanced knowledge and experience to research, recommend, design and architect complex multi-vendor data network solutions for the organization.
The Senior Network Engineer performs advanced configuration and implementation of core network infrastructure systems that affect the entire organization.
Develops and implements advanced network monitoring, management and troubleshooting systems and tools. Performs rapid troubleshooting and resolution of system wide issues.
Leverages advanced skills to assist and mentor other team members and in support of departmental goals. Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience interfacing with Executive Leadership desired. Network certifications a plus.
Desired work experience includes :
Excellent understanding of advanced tcp / ip; routing / switch / firewall
Skilled in utilizing container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for network function virtualization
Understanding of machine learning algorithms to predict network performance and automate capacity planning
Ability to integrate network automation with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) for seamless cloud networking
Proficiency in network automation tools such as Terraform and GitOps for infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and deploy in CI / CD pipelines
Develop automation solutions to work with existing and new network technologies such as switches, routers, and firewalls;
SDA / SDWAN / ACI / ISE
Ability to document a complex process, split it logically it into subtasks, and turn it into requirements for developers to implement
Experience automating network configuration deployment using modern scripting languages (ex. JavaScript, Python, Ansible)
Identify the problem to be solved what needs to be automated and why
Design workflow and inventories that will serve as the foundation for building an automation solution
Experience with data models like : REST API, YANG / NETCONF
Development, configuration, implementation, and testing of multiple network platforms to streamline network operations
Design, deploy and maintain network systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required in networking, computer science, information systems, or related technology field.
One or more industry standard certifications preferred; CCNA, CCNP or CCIE Cisco certification or equivalent a strong plus.
Five years experience or advanced certifications in networking. Advanced knowledge of network routing and switching hardware, as well as network security equipment and best practices.
When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
