Shared Services : HIM Charge Integrity - (Full-time, Day Shift) -

The Charge Integrity Analyst performs CPT coding that includes E and M and other charge validation functions from computer systems, which comprise the legal medical record for facilities licensed under LLUMC and other contracted LLUAHSC facilities.
Ensures the quality and accuracy of CPT charges in compliance with federal and state regulations, government and contract payers, and grant funding.
Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes in compliance with the American Hospital Association Official Coding Guidelines. Performs coding in areas of Outpatient Labs, Inpatient and Outpatient Admit Lists, Modifier 91, specific types of ED or other Outpatient coding.
Assists with OSHPD reports. Assigns and maintains state performance and quality standards. Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of Basic Coding Training that includes Current Procedure Technology (CPT) required.
Minimum six months of coding experience in an outpatient facility required. Certified Professional Coder Certification (CPC) required.
Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.
Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.
- g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate / troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others;
