Advanced Welder Job Description :
As an Advanced Welder, you will need to be able to read and understand shop drawings, plan fabrication, and fabricate welded components per the shop drawing.
The shop is equipped with a wide range of tools, drills, cold saws, bandsaws, grinders, tapping arms, laser, press brake, overhead crane, forklift, etc.
We are looking for a fabricator with the following skills :
- Advanced MIG (75%) & TIG (25%)
- Expert at interpreting shop drawings to make parts and develop a work plan / sequence.
- Perform accurate layout of plates, holes, bends, etc.
- Skilled in the use of layout tools like scribes, squares, tapes, protractors, levels, etc.
- A Fabricator needs to be able to meet Hester’s welding standards, and must know how to set up the machine, diagnose problems, and make high quality welds.
- As a Fabricator, you will need to be humble and ready to learn every day. Our shop produces and utilizes new techniques to produce unique parts every day.
- Estimate fabrication durations and consistently meet goals.
- Plan and sequence work with the shop manager.
