The function of the Trauma Program Manager is to develop, plan, implement and review the organized systematic approach for the Trauma Service.
The Trauma Program Manager assists Director in supervising and directing Trauma care and all related activities of the service.
Promotes optimal trauma care in the contest of the regionalized trauma care system through clinical activities, administrative functions, quality assurance activities, professional and public education and other related activities.
These activities shall be in keeping with the requirements of the American College of Surgeons, Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient , and the strategic plan and mission of ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER.
The Trauma Program Manager develops and implements policies and procedures for the Trauma Service Program. Builds and develops the patient care team using staff personnel, assistance to physicians, material and equipment, education of personnel and administrative duties.
Serves as chief retention and recruitment leader of the unit. Maintains compliance to external standards and regulations regarding ACS, JCAHO, OSHA, OBN, ODH, CLIA and CARF.
Serves as program liaison with other hospital departments and with outside agencies and institutions. Coordinates care of the trauma patient across the continuum of services.
Education : BSN required.Masters of Science preferred.
Licensure : Current Ohio Nursing license required.
Certification : N / A
Experience : Minimum of five years clinical experience with three years in area of specialty. Previous experience in an expanded role, i.
e. management, clinical specialists, etc.
Skills / Other : Demonstrated expertise in program development and teaching.Good communication, interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
Self-directed.Flexibility in working hours.Ability to work independently with little supervision.Good follow-through.Computer skills.
Experience with the TQI process and SPC tools.Previous pre-hospital care experience preferred.
