Principal Project Engineer
Our client is a rapidly growing organization in their industry niche. They are dedicated to delivering quality and engineering excellence, which has allowed them to consistently increase market share globally.
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and supervise capital projects involving the implementation of new processes, equipment, and continuous improvement efforts in packaging and manufacturing.
Projects will vary in complexity, with a strong focus on timely delivery and optimization. A significant aspect of this role will involve mentoring, teaching, and developing the engineering team.
This position reports to the Director of Engineering for the facility.
Responsibilities :
- Manage capital projects from inception to completion using established engineering project management processes and procedures
- Mentor, teach, and foster the growth of an engineering team
- Adhere to regulations, industry best practices, and company engineering standards
- Ensure successful completion of all project phases, including scope, budgeting, execution, and delivery
- Oversee internal and external resources throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with all stakeholders throughout the project duration
- Provide technical solutions, design support, and equipment troubleshooting assistance to operations
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement projects, including developing justifications and return on investment assessments
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of new systems to effectively train and guide plant engineers and maintenance staff, ensuring successful knowledge transfer and documentation
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the agility to adapt to changing directions
- Propose and implement work processes, procedures, and technical resources in alignment with the Engineering Policy
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
- 10-25 years of project engineering or management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong expertise in capital project management, following standards and delivering projects through initiation, planning, and execution.
Proficiency in developing DQ, FAT, CQV, ramp-up analysis, and other project management protocols
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Microsoft Projects, and ability to use CAD for system designs and machine layouts.
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, construction drawings, and technical documentation
- Preferred experience in a beverage, aseptic, and / or food manufacturing environment
- Understanding of financial analysis, relevant business KPIs, and CAPEX budgeting and preparation
