Senior Staff Accountant

SUMMARY : The senior accountant assists the team in fulfilling the responsibilities of the ASEA financial function. These functions include planning, accounting and reporting, compliance, and audit defense.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field and also have an overall understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work extensively on domestic and international issues that support the function for a growing multinational company.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Update general ledgers, journal entries, accounts, and financial reports. Partner with the finance team in the reconciliation of accounts.

Support the international accounting function for ASEA's international subsidiary companies. Assist the accounting department in the planning and audit defense functions as needed.

Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS : BS / BA degree in accounting. 1-3 years' experience in public or corporate accounting (entry-level applicants welcome).

International accounting experience preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel required, familiarity with MS Great Plains a plus.

Experience with the GAAP reporting practices. Ability to work well and communicate effectively with third party accounting professionals.
