What part will you play?

The Accountant, Financial Reporting, will be a key member of the financial reporting team and is responsible for assisting in the preparation of various monthly reports and financial statements.

As part of the role, the person will assist with the month-end closing process for the Company's international entities, reviewing the international subsidiaries' monthly financial statements to ensure they are accurate in accordance with United States generally accepted accounting principles ("US GAAP') as well as international financial reporting standards ("IFRS") and applicable local statutory requirements.

Responsibilities also include coordinating with the international subsidiaries' accounting functions to provide timely, meaningful and accurate financial information and maintain compliance with internal controls over financial reporting.

This role will also assist as needed in the preparation of the audited annual financial statements, including certain footnote disclosures.

This position will have a direct role in helping to establish accounting policies that will impact the financial well-being of the company.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for helping to ensure that our financial statements are accurate and free of material misstatement.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements used for bank reporting and management reporting.
  • Assist in researching technical accounting issues and drafting related whitepapers, ensuring proper accounting treatment and / or implementation of guidance.
  • Assist in the preparation and support of the audited annual financial statements.
  • Provide accounting support and help ensure consistent policy and procedure implementation at our international entities.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to review and participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and reporting activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial variance analysis reports.
  • Research GL account activity in our balance sheet clean up efforts in preparation for the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Support the implementation of internal controls and process improvements.

What do we require from you?

Knowledge / Skill Requirements :

  • Previous experience with financial reporting, including preparation of footnote disclosures required (or working in these areas in the capacity of an auditor)
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and prevent errors or discrepancies in financial information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify the root cause of problems and propose solutions to correct issues.
  • Able to convey complex financial information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work independently and with others, to contribute to team goals.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities while working remotely (if necessary).
  • Must maintain high ethical standards, meet confidentiality requirements, to ensure the security and privacy of financial data.
  • Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial management tools.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel : advanced spreadsheet skills required, including but not limited to : Pivot Tables and Vlookups.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn accounting and reporting applications in a short period of time.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

Education / Certification / License Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Preferred :
  • Master's degree in accounting
  • Certification (or working toward) such as CPA, CA, or CMA.

Working Experience

2+ years' experience directly working in the preparation of financial reports or 1-2 years of experience in an accounting and auditing firm as an auditor having direct experience with financial audits

Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The pay details below range from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience depending on the position offered, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
