About the opportunity SWCA Environmental Consultants is a leading environmental consulting firm dedicated to delivering sound science and creative solutions to our clients.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure compliance with the ASC-606 accounting standard. This position is critical for reviewing, analyzing, and documenting contracts to ensure they meet the revenue recognition requirements under ASC-606.
The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to wrap up all necessary work by December 31, 2024. Application deadline : Our team will begin reviewing applications immediately, and interviews will be scheduled with qualified candidates on a rolling basis.

What you will accomplish Contract Review and Analysis : Examine and interpret contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with ASC-606.
Identify performance obligations, transaction prices, and allocation of transaction prices to performance obligations. Document and maintain comprehensive records of contract analysis and conclusions.
Revenue Recognition : Apply ASC-606 principles to determine the appropriate timing and amount of revenue recognition. Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures related to revenue recognition. Compliance and Documentation : Ensure all contract modifications, renewals, and amendments are analyzed for ASC-606 compliance.
Maintain and update internal documentation and processes to reflect compliance efforts. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with legal, risk, and accounting teams to understand contract terms and business practices.
Provide guidance and training to other departments on ASC-606 requirements and implications. Project Management : Manage the timeline and deliverables to ensure all tasks are completed by the December 31, 2024 deadline.
Communicate progress and any potential issues to management in a timely manner. Experience and qualifications for success Knowledge of Contracts, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in contract analysis, revenue recognition, or a related field. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
