As a Physical Education Teacher, you will enjoy a flexible work environment that
promotes work / life balance, while also being given the opportunity to collaborate with a
multidisciplinary team to create a 1 : 1 personalized level of education for each student.
Empower Students Through Teachable Moments
Working with children from preschool age to grade five in a special education setting. All classrooms are multiply disabled programs with most students classified as autistic.
Bancroft partners with school districts and state agencies to address each student’s unique needs and supports, including special education, integrated therapies, communication strategies and devices, and residential program
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Assess students individual abilities and create Individualized Education Plans
IEPs) as related to Health and Physical Education program
- Design and implement individualized student goals, utilizing curriculum and clinical resources
- Develop and adapt creative, out-of-the-box teaching strategies to address each students unique needs and abilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, support staff, and
- other educators, to ensure a holistic approach to each child's tailored educational journey
- Provide a flexible, nurturing learning environment that fosters students; personal growth and self-confidence
- Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and caregivers, involving them in their child’s educational progress
- Continuously evaluate and adjust instructional methods and strategies to optimize student learning and growth
- Work within school budget to submit material requests annually to school principal
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Physical Education
Standard state certification in Health and Physical Education
Strong ability to think outside the box and adapt teaching methods to meet
individual student needs
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
A deep commitment to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment for
students with diverse challenges
Be able to work in a highly collaborative manner with all school staff and parents
Maintain the safety and well being of all students
