Job Title : Commercial CarpenterSchedule : Monday - Friday / 7 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm / Weekly PayLocation : Ames, IowaKey Responsibilities : Carpentry Work : Perform a variety of carpentry tasks including framing, drywall installation, trim work, and cabinetry for commercial buildings.
Blueprint Interpretation : Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes to determine layout and installation requirements.
Material Handling : Select and prepare materials, including wood, metal studs, and composite materials. Ensure proper handling, storage, and waste management.
Measurements and Layouts : Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials to ensure precision and alignment following project specifications.
Installation : Install structures such as partitions, ceilings, and cabinets, as well as fixtures and finishes, ensuring durability and quality.
Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, other tradespeople, and construction teams to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
Qualifications : Experience : At least 2-5 years of experience as a carpenter, with a focus on commercial projects preferred.
Skills : Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, levels, and measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge : Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, building codes, and safety regulations.Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and precision in carpentry work.
Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
