The Vice President of Finance Management is an integral part of a dedicated and highly skilled executive leadership team, responsible for providing outstanding customized service to our Clients.

Maintaining a high level of Client satisfaction is critical to the success of this position. The individual in this role is responsible for providing superior leadership and oversight of core financial services and initiatives, including vision and strategy, planning, implementation, and leadership of finance, forecasting, budgeting, corporate and investment accounting, tax, treasury management, audit, and private island resort finance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Leadership :

  • Effectively lead others to ensure a professional and highly competent team.
  • Provide ongoing feedback; develop, mentor, and motivate direct reports; lead by setting a good example; create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, and cohesive team effort.
  • Set goals and direction; manage and evaluate performance.
  • Actively participate in organizational strategic planning, short-term and long-term planning, budget development, and other strategic business functions;

execute accordingly to actualize business objectives.

Strategy, Planning, and Management :

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and Clients.
  • Assess and evaluate the organization's financial performance in relation to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
  • Develop financial and tax strategies.
  • Oversee the budgeting process.
  • Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the organization’s strategic direction.
  • Create and establish annual financial objectives that align with the organization’s business plans.
  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and support tactical initiatives.

Finance Management and Policies :

  • Provide superior leadership of all finance-related activities and strategies.
  • Provide fiduciary oversight for a diverse portfolio of financial interests and, as a financial expert, be responsible for improving upon and overseeing finance and accounting, wealth management, and tax planning;

supporting sound internal financial decision-making; and providing Clients with outstanding financial support.

  • Streamline financial services and reporting and provide transparency for all beneficiary members.
  • Develop financial organizational strategies by contributing strategic financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations;

establish functional objectives aligning with organizational goals.

  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Serve on the Investment Committee to ensure overall strategy and business direction align with long-term performance targets, missions, and visions and contribute to pivotal decisions relating to strategic initiatives and operational models.
  • Manage the private island resort finance function ensuring proper internal controls, robust financial reporting, and transparent measures of financial operation.

Standards and Oversight :

  • Oversee the alignment, engagement, and management of third parties to which financial functions have been outsourced.
  • Represent organization and Clients to banks, financial partners, institutions, auditors, and key business partners.
  • Forge strong relationships with external partners; work through challenges and communicate concerns when expectations are unmet;

enable superior communication and collaboration.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements, regulations, and standards.
  • Ensure appropriate and necessary controls are in place, documented, and followed. Develop and review systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  • Remain current on accounting and audit best practices as well as federal, state, and local laws regarding operations.
  • Understand and help mitigate key elements of the organization's financial risk profile.
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.

Other :

  • Develop strategy and objectives that best meet the clients' needs, with a focus on enhancing service delivery and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities, assess risks, define, and financially justify projects.
  • Ensure priorities are executed based on Clients’ needs and long-term vision.
  • Oversee and review proposed financial initiatives by carefully assessing Client needs, associated costs, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders.
  • Exercise sound judgment and an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; relevant graduate degree, and CFA or CPA highly desirable.
  • At least 15 years of progressively more responsible experience in accounting and financial management practices.
  • Exceptional leadership experience and skills required; demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence.
  • Prior family office experience is highly desirable.
  • Finance savvy, having excellent business acumen; practical, analytical, and visionary in approach.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
  • Experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
  • Outstanding knowledge of GAAP compliance.
  • A strategic thinker having exceptional diplomacy, verbal and written communication skills, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills with a consultative approach and excellent listening skills; ability to build and encourage mutually beneficial relationships at every level.
  • Proven track record of providing outstanding customer service with a professional, tactful demeanor.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Occasional travel may be required, including international.
  • Must maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics, and integrity in all operations.
  • Uncompromised commitment to the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to privacy in all aspects of job responsibilities must be exercised at all times.
