Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) has excellent advancement opportunities for Water Resource / Hydraulic civil engineering professionals.
This position will provide leadership opportunities for the development of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, outfall analysis, and stream restoration for a wide range of transportation design projects.
Typical projects range from large design / build transportation projects to traditional projects for local government, state, and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions and oversee the development of the water resource / hydraulic design.
- Leads project team meetings and presents specific aspects of water resource / hydraulic design.
- Provides design support on multiple projects of moderate size and leads designs on smaller projects.
- Maintains high standards of work product and provides quality control for peers.
- Interacts with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.
- Assists the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in water resource / hydraulic engineering design.
- Understanding VDOT and local policies and procedures is desirable.
- Strong technical design background in water resource / hydraulic design and familiar with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards.
- Must demonstrate teamwork and possess written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD / Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
