Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, The Maintenance Manager leads the Maintenance Department, which is responsible for all maintenance aspects for the aseptic process facility.

The Department supports the overall company goals of employee health and safety, product quality and customer satisfaction.

The Maintenance Manager will lead his / her team through the implementation of capital projects, equipment qualifications, process validations, operation and maintenance standards and good engineering practices.

This highly visible position demands strong technical management skills.

Successful candidates will have advanced experience in food processing operations. A strong management background will support the department’s strategy.

He / she must have a proven track record in setting goals, achieving results and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, production support environment.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Ensure maintenance teams have clear direction for attaining goals for the day, week, month, year
  • Work with operations partners to ensure their team is collaborating with all areas to drive results.
  • Meet daily with shift leaders and review past 24-hour and next 24-hour performance
  • Ensure staff levels are adequate and available for team to support production and meet OT goals
  • Work with Continuous Improvement Team to ensure proper training plans for all technicians
  • Monitor Department Labor and Expense budget
  • Work with Planning Team to establish scheduled Maintenance Windows
  • Mentor Department Supervisors to ensure team is trained and operating to set standards
  • Help create and implement standard operating procedures for maintenance tasks to keep a standardized and resilient work force
  • Ensure all regulatory work is completed and documented in a timely fashion
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
  • Enforce health and safety precautions for their respective areas
  • Works closely with quality to maintain standards in quality, and ensure all KPIs are met or exceeded
  • Analyze operations and problems to take appropriate action to ensure safe, continuous, and reliable functioning of equipment and systems.
  • Complies with GMP and HAACP guidelines to ensure food safety.
  • Ensures seamless and reliable performance of critical utilities systems including the monitoring of data trends and alarms / notification response.
  • Operates within given SOP parameters that ensure desired food quality results are not jeopardized, and that customer specifications are met
  • Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP
  • Analyze operations and problems to take appropriate action to ensure safe, continuous, and reliable functioning of equipment and systems.

Experience with RCA process.

Execute and ensures completion of preventative maintenance of facility, utilities, and support equipment per established schedule for internal teams and outside contractors.

Education and / or Experience :

  • Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering degree and / or 8-10 years of experience in food processing environment.
  • Proven track record of successful production line installation and performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated managerial skills related to employee development and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of engineering management software, such as M.S. Project, CAD.
  • Working Knowledge with Boiler, Air compressor, Cooling Systems, Building maintenance and Wastewater

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Six Sigma, TPM or LEAN certified
  • Thermal processing and Aseptic filling Tetra experience preferred.

Physical Activity :

  • Regularly walk, move about.
  • Occasionally sit, squat, bend, kneel, climb, reach with hands and arms, and push / pull / lift / carry 25 lbs

Additional Compensation Annual Cash Bonus : You will be eligible to participate in our Employee Bonus Program. For this fiscal year, your annual maximum bonus potential is up to 15% of your annualized base salary.

All bonus payments are prorated based on your hire date. Under this Program, bonus payouts are dependent upon the financial performance of the company.
