Job Purpose :

Responsible for managing bid lists, securing plans and specifications, generating take-offs and project estimates, providing technical sales support for both the Outside Sales team and respective contractors, and managing projects to ensure profit targets are obtained.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Obtain and review project plans and specifications to determine specific products and services to be included in a binding estimate per the established guidelines.
• Obtain special quotations from manufacturers as required for products while maintaining competitive pricing levels to maximize gross margins.
• Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services department.
• Populate job tracking system with pertinent information including basis of design info, quote values, etc.
• Prepare complete and accurate engineering submittals for products being ordered.
• Answer application and technical questions as well as general customer service questions from mechanical contractors.
• Prepare and generate orders to manufacturers for products being provided on awarded projects.
• Manage logistics to ensure product arrives at job site when required.
• Maintain proper margin levels and job accuracy to ensure that projects are billed correctly.
• Partner with the Outside Sales Force and keep them informed concerning product availability, shipping schedules, and overall job status.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Commercial HVAC project management experience preferred.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as the ability to learn job-specific software programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Travel Requirement :

10% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry-related conferences and training requiring some extended stay.
