The Senior Manager, Global SAP QA lead, is responsible for managing the Global SAP QA practice, services, principles, and processes to ensure adequate testing and quality checks of the SAP solution before it is deployed to production.
This role serves across the SAP S4 footprint, spanning multiple geographies with SAP S4 presence, and is responsible for ensuring that quality SAP solutions and end-user experiences are delivered to the Nutrien organization.
This role will lead best practices around the processes, technologies and people to strengthen the QA practice at Nutrien.
The leader will play a key role throughout all phases of the testing life cycle of the SAP S4 solution.This role reports to the Sr Director, Global SAP COE.
What you will do :
- Manage a team of test analysts to get the desired QA results for the Nutrien IT organization.
- Provide guidance and coaching to the QA team on best practices and improvement areas.
- In addition to managing the team, this role will also be responsible to focus on delivery with hands-on work.
- Develop QA strategies and standards based on projects across teams.
- Create detailed, and well-structured test plans and test cases working with teams and report progress on the plan.
- Design, develop and execute manual test scenarios under regression test plans.
- Manage and coordinate daily software-related testing activities at the project team level and for the regular SAP sustainment release.
- Plan and Coordinate setup of test environments and test data management strategy, working with other stakeholders.
- Manage and perform regular reporting on the QA stream on its items, progress and success stories.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities to ensure tasks are completed as scheduled.
- Ensure test requirements are well understood and the corresponding test development activities are planned for successful delivery aligned with the project and the sustainment release timelines.
- Manage team to execute the test steps and record results in the test management tool. Record any defects found along with supporting documentation and the steps to recreate the problem.
Participate in defect review sessions with the software development team, the business analyst and the test manager to ensure clear communication of the defects found.
- Collaborate with delivery, development, test, and business teams to fully understand the future business state and the proposed application / system changes being planned to develop test strategy.
- Lead the software defect review meetings to provide the business and IT teams with prioritization and severity assessments of the defects.
Manages the defect management process with the project team to track and report defect repair progress.
- Deliver testing estimates and progress reports to the test manager and project management team. Track testing financials and risks at the project team level.
- Explore, implement and improve test automation capabilities, both regression and performance.
What you will bring :
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 10+ years’ experience in software quality assurance.
- 5+ years experience in the test automation space.
- 5+ years experience in the SAP / ERP testing field.
- 4+ years of experience in managing large QA practice and / or testing program delivery with 2-3 large testing initiatives.
- Experience working in big consulting firms in their QA and testing practice will be an asset.
- Experience in the following : Manual and automated testing of SAP solution and its performance Experience with Tricentis TOSCA for automation and HP ALM
- Experience in planning and executing SAP performance testing and familiarity with the LoadRunner toolset.
- Ability to identify, record, document, and track defects in SAP Solutions using HP ALM.
- Hands-on experience working on HP ALM is required.
- Experience working in a fast and agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Certification in QA / testing space will be an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and work collaboratively with large teams.
- Experience managing hybrid teams both reporting and non-reporting.
Compensation & Benefits :
$134,000 - $184,250 USD. This range is estimated for a Senior Manager, Global SAP QA Lead in Loveland, CO. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
