Position Summary

The Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for utilizing creative arts therapy techniques to facilitate understanding and practice of coping skills;

foster and enhance communication, self-esteem, creativity, socialization and physical movement of assigned patients. The incumbent provides creative arts therapy services, and psychoeducation to patients in the in-patient setting.

This position works under limited supervision. Internal contacts include all levels of staff and management. External contacts include patients and families / caregivers, physicians, and community agencies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Art Therapy, Dance / Movement Therapy, or Drama Therapy, or a bachelor's degree in music therapy with applicable board certification
  • Registration and / or Board-Certification preferred (MT-BC, ATR-BC, RDT, BC-DMT)
  • Licensure preferred (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) or Associate Level Licensure
  • Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration upon hire if not in possession of any other listed license
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred
  • Experience with geriatrics and adults preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off.

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position.

The pay scale is $34.12 - $49.10 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to : skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and / or education.

If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
