Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Edmond, OK Wednesday-Saturday 1300-2330
Essential Functions of Employment with DLO :
- Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day
- Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform
- Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis
Main Duties : Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coag, serology, blood bank and limited microbiology. Assist with specimen processing.
Follow employee policies, work with fellow employees in a professional productive manner; perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Required Knowledge : General laboratory knowledge, including the use of computers; knowledge of QA and QC as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.
Required Experience : AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Laboratory Science. ASCP MLS / MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MLS / MLT certification.
Qualifications
Special Requirements : Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.
Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important as is multitasking. May be required to work overtime or other shifts or days as needed.
Required to work some holidays.
Physical and Mental Requirements :
The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects : Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently;
objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking and / or standing.
- May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
