The Electronics Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, repairing, and maintaining electronic systems and components.
This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing faults in electronic equipment and systems, as well as performing regular maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electronics and the ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, maintain, solder, and repair electronic systems, components, and equipment, including circuit boards, wiring, and electronic devices.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electronic systems and components, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure electronic equipment operates effectively and prevent potential breakdowns.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and service manuals to understand and follow precise technical instructions.
- Test and calibrate electronic systems using specialized equipment to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
- Assemble and solder components onto circuit boards or other electronic devices.
- Document repairs, maintenance, and testing activities in logs or maintenance records.
- Work closely with engineers and other technical staff to design, prototype, and improve electronic devices and systems.
- Stay updated on advancements in electronic technologies and equipment to improve service quality. Qualifications :
- Education :
- Education :
- Associate's degree or diploma in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
- Certifications such as CET (Certified Electronics Technician) or similar are a plus.
- Experience :
- Proven experience as an electronics technician or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with soldering, assembling, and testing electronic circuits.
- Skills :
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electronic devices and systems.
- Proficiency with testing tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with different soldering techniques and tools.
- Basic knowledge of programming for microcontrollers (optional but beneficial).
- Strong attention to detail and precision in handling components and conducting repairs.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, and work in a variety of positions for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling small electronic components.
