Adjunct Latin Foreign Language Instructor

DESCRIPTION

Antelope Valley College invites applications for our adjunct (Temporary, part-time) faculty applicant pool for the following : Foreign language Latin Instructor.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Instruct students in the assigned discipline

Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, on-line courses and / or off-campus sites

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must meet one of the following requirements)

• Most current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty in California Community Colleges : Master’s in the language being taught OR Bachelor’s in the language being taught AND Master’s in another language or linguistics OR the equivalent.
• Antelope Valley College Equivalency : Equivalency not needed, per faculty division

AND a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,

disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (Assembly Bill 1725; EducationOTHER INFORMATION

• Letter of intent that addresses minimum and desirable qualifications.
• Scanned copy of official transcripts with required degree(s). Foreign transcripts and degrees require official certification of equivalency to U.

S. transcripts and degrees by a certified U.S. review service at the time of application and must identify graduate level coursework.

Two (2) current letters of professional reference signed and dated within the last year.

• Applicants may be subject to passing an examination (written / technical), as appropriate to the requirements of the position.
• Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary.
