SUMMARY :

Responsible for effectively maintaining all electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :

  • Maintains all electrical equipment throughout the property.
  • Responds to work orders on a daily basis.
  • Assists other engineers and mechanics with repairs; handles day-to-day electrical operations.
  • Routinely inspects all electrical equipment, identifying potential problems and / or safety hazards, and repairing same, as needed.
  • Takes readings on all electrical equipment.
  • Wires electrical equipment for convention exhibits and special events.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of materials needed for the efficient performance of job.
  • Coordinates and installs all new electrical equipment and / or wiring.
  • Maintains all logs necessary for conformance with established standards.
  • Ensures adherence to all OSHA safety requirements and safety policies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Must have five years related experience. Occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training and on-the-job training preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS :

Appropriate electrical certification preferred.

This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY :

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The employee is regularly required to climb a twelve (12) foot ladder.

The employee is regularly required to lift and / or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Applicant must successfully pass a color blindness test to distinguish color.

The employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and danger of exposure to various chemicals used in the maintenance of the property.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.

A casino environment is typically smoky.
