Global Security - Area Security Specialist

  • Global Security (GS) protects the firm's employees and assets throughout the world. Global Security is responsible for developing security standards and procedures;
  • ATM, branch and corporate building security; guard force management; alarm response; crisis management; pre-employment screening;

fraud and employee investigations; and corporate aviation.

As a Area Security Manager in Global Security, you will be responsible for the security of your assigned location(s). Overseeing the generation and implementation of comprehensive plans of action to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities to the site and it's employees and clients.

Utilizing professional security practices, you will develop and implement any enhanced security protocols, procedures, and policies to optimize the overall performance of the Global Security North America Physical Security team.

Excluding Chase retail locations, the other lines of business and corporate functions occupy what is known as JPMC corporate office space.

These offices are found across the country, varying in size and function. They include small rental spaces with 20 full time employees, urban high-rise office buildings, and large corporate campuses with thousands of employees.

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents and coordinate staff follow up, including necessary investigation and risk mitigation, in partnership with Line of Business management, corporate partners, and law enforcement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across all lines of business with key business partners and management. Attend key management meetings to maintain visibility and open lines of communication, and coordinate plans to mitigate known civil disturbances, protests, etc.

  • Manage guard force in territory of assignment
  • Perform periodic security review and risk assessment at assigned regional facilities and conduct periodic security and personal safety training.
  • Support installation of security systems for existing and new-build properties.
  • Assist with corporate events and executive protection as needed. Available to travel in support of department functions.

Provide availability for after-hours response to emergency incidents.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 3 years of experience in a security role
  • Business process understanding and proficiency in MS Office
  • Developing subject matter expertise in assigned area
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to work independently
  • Able to operate in stressful post-incident environment
  • Strong security product knowledge and investigative understanding

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 years of experience in a security role, with law enforcement or military background preferred
