The Quality Software Engineer - Terminology Operations is a multidisciplinary technical role that requires a combination of various technical, business, and customer service skills.
You will help ensure quality terminology releases for our clients and internal operations through the effective testing, design, and maintenance of object-oriented frameworks and tools.
In this hands-on position, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging assignments to grow your skills and drive the delivery of content used throughout healthcare.
This is a Remote role and will report to the Manager, Terminology Operations and under the leadership of the Director, Technology - Health Language. #LI-Remote
Required Job Qualifications (Minimum) :
- Experience : Minimum 2+ years experience with progressive work in developing or testing n-tiered, sophisticated production applications.
- 2+ years’ experience developing test scripts using object-oriented development languages.
- 3+ years’ experience working with relational databases, including working knowledge of SQL.
- 1+ years’ experience working with Bamboo or other CDLC tools.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
Other Qualifications (preferences) :
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- Experience with complex data models.
- Experience with working in a shared code base; comfortable with pull requests, code review, branching.
- Experience with agile processes.
- Knowledge and experience in GUI development.
- Strong testing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as be a team player.
- Self-directed, proactive, organized, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Curious personality and excited by data and problem solving.
- Solid multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills with significant attention to detail and follow-through.

- Degree in Computer Science or commensurate education and experience.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Prepare test plans (i.e. review requirements, use cases, documentation, specifications) to build a testing strategy.
- Execute and report findings of test cases according to plan and allocated timeline.
- Responsible for defect management and works closely with Content Engineering and Clinical teams to log issues in JIRA and bring issues to closure.
- Certify content for production and deployment to clients and internal environments.
- Collect and create testing data necessary to run test plans.
- Partner with other teams to determine the impact of content changes to applications and client use cases.
- Assist coworkers and customers with technical issues, problem investigation, and training.
- Adopt and promote standardized software quality assurance practices.
- Develop and document effective test cases, release test plans, and other QA documentation.
- Define, design, and document detailed technical specifications to develop or improve applications and content.
- Design, evaluate, and implement the requirements for new applications / tools or modifications to existing applications / tools for appropriate functionality and performance.
- Support development of automated content engineering tools, applications, and automated test frameworks.
- Contribute to and participate in design and code review.
- Act as an advocate for quality throughout the terminology development / operations lifecycle.
