Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Public Programs Coordinator for The Lilley Museum. The Lilley Museum Public Program Coordinator will manage the development, implementation, and execution of a wide-ranging scope of cross-disciplinary programs with and for broad audiences, including campus, community, and the general public, that use the Lilley Museum of Art’s collection and exhibitions as a springboard for shared learning and dialogue around issues that matter in our world today.

In this role, the Public Programs Coordinator will foreground the Lilley's interdisciplinary teaching, learning and research mission;

engage with University of Nevada students, staff, faculty and their ideas; and, through a suite of programs, advance the museum’s role as catalyst for new ideas, and a convener across disciplines and communities, and across campus.

In collaboration with the Director, the position will create, manage, and track all public programming at the museum. They will oversee gallery management and staffing, and will oversee student workers.

This one-year position reports to the Director of the Lilley Museum of Art.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience, OR Master’s Degree and two (1) year of related work experience

Related Experience : Experience managing public programs in higher education, museums, and / or community organizations, experience in collaborating with partners to generate and execute multidisciplinary, intellectually rigorous and socially engaged programs on contemporary issues, experience working with and across diverse communities and multiple perspectives, and a record of work that models inclusive excellence or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with knowledge of Extension's mission and structure; higher education purchasing and grant procedures; Nevada’s local, state, and federal firefighting agency roles and personnel;

LWF wildfire threat reduction recommendations; budget development and management; project management; and grant proposal development and administration are encouraged to apply.
