JOB FUNCTIONS :
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
- Operates production machinery in accordance with company standards
- Make-ready, adjusts and runs job as efficiently as possible to meet safety and productivity standards
- Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances
- Obtains job tickets and reviews prior to running orders
- Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
- Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area
- Ensures that appropriate contact relief is made, and machine hands-off occurs during shift changes
- Works as a leader of the crew, overseeing operator assistants, feeders, packers, and inspectors working on the machine
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-3 years related experience and / or training
SKILLS :
- Ability to troubleshoot, adjust and debug to finalize most machine lines required in-house or at the customer’s facility
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and translate designs and documentation
- Basic mechanical ability to adjust the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded
- Ability to match or detect differences between colors
- Maintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision
- Perform all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer and data entry skills
SCHEDULE DEMANDS :
- Must be able to work 8 hour shifts plus overtime as required.
- Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and / or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Standing : 34-66% of time
- Walking : 34-66% of time
- Pushing / Pulling : Frequently with a force of 10 lbs. Occasionally with a force of 50 lbs. Rarely with a force of 10 lbs.
- Lifting : Frequently with a force of 10 lbs. Occasionally with a force of 50 lbs. Rarely with a force of 10 lbs.
- Frequent stair climbing, kneeling, crouching, balance, forward bending / standing, right and left hand coordination.
- Occasional right and left hand grip, elevated work, repetitive squat, repetitive reaching, step ladder climbing, rotation sitting.
- Wear PPE when required : Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection etc.
- Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
- Use of various office equipment.
