Staff Accountant

Our client, a $150m company owned by a Fortune 500 Company is looking for a Staff Accountant who wants to come in and grow their career with a growing company.

What You'll Be Doing :

• The Staff Accountant supports the finance team by compiling and analyzing financial data, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, margins, and balance sheet items.
• This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, aiding in month-end and year-end close processes, and providing valuable insights to inform financial decisions.
• Maintains financial records by preparing, collecting, and posting monthly journal entries in the general ledger and job cost system in compliance with GAAP, SOX, and Company accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepares reconciliations for bank accounts, Inter-Company transactions, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assists the Controller and CFO with monthly closing procedures by preparing and validating company financial records and statements.
• Supports team members with financial analyses as needed.
• Responsible for proper accruals, reserves, and reviewing trial balances to ensure accuracy, integrity, and GAAP compliance.
• Prepares and approves various Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Identifies and resolves accounting discrepancies.
• Reconciles accounts, identifies discrepancies, and proposes corrective actions.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data and provide insights.
• Supports external audit activities by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Develops and maintains documentation of accounting processes and procedures.

What You Bring to the Table :

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles
• Excel - Ability to work in large data sets and perform VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables
• Strong attention to detail
• Team player attitude with a great personality
