Sustainability Engineer II

Position Summary :

The ideal candidate will have experience tracking GHG emissions for many types of activities and products and experience with Product Life Cycle Assessments.

The Sustainability Engineer II seeks to implement sustainability system solutions supporting the company strategy and benefiting the operations, financial, marketing, and technical teams.

Primary / Essential Responsibilities :

  • Assists with creating, promoting, and driving engagement to corporate sustainability goals in alignment with the company strategy and technical roadmaps.
  • Provides input to management in order establish short, medium, and long-term targets related to climate impact reduction commitments and goals in alignment with the organization's sustainability strategy.
  • Measures and tracks progress to key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability goals.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to promote sustainability strategies and action and drive progress on performance initiatives.
  • Uses industry methodologies, tools, and services related to GHG emissions and strategic areas of interest. Participates in compliance reviews of internal processes and practices.
  • Conducts workshops to train and create awareness of sustainability initiatives, processes, and best practices.
  • Collaborates with engineering colleagues to ensure that new products are optimized from a sustainability point of view.
  • Assists the company representatives in maintaining a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks related to G&W Electric's sustainability strategy.

Work with internal teams to ensure compliance and implementation of new regulations.

  • May attend industry events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends. May provide insights related to future business initiatives, market drivers, and competitor activities for inclusion in business planning.
  • Works with customer facing teams to understand customer sustainability requirements and goals and collaborate with stakeholders to define needed process improves for the organization.
  • Assist in gathering responses to customer surveys and questionnaires related to sustainability, such as CDP, TSP, and Ecovadis.
  • Working with internal / external resources, perform life cycle assessments (LCAs) and environmental impact analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Research best practices and methodology trends for data collection.
  • Improve data accuracy and corresponding levels of detail for environmental data. Utilize the data to recommend environmental goals and support customer and regulatory reporting.

Required Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in a sustainability-driven technical field
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical / chemical field
  • Proficient knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (such as CDP, TCFD, ISSB, and CSRD)
  • Understanding of GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain Accounting and Reporting Standard
