Job Title : Infection Control Nurse

We prioritize the well-being of our residents and are dedicated to creating a safe and healthy environment. As part of our ongoing commitment to infection prevention and control, we are seeking a qualified Infection Control Nurse to join our team.
Responsibilities :
Develop and Implement Infection Control Policies : Create, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Monitoring and Surveillance : Conduct regular surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) within the facility.
Monitor infection trends, identify potential outbreaks, and take prompt corrective action.
Education and Training : Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices, hand hygiene, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaboration : Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and environmental services, to ensure a cohesive approach to infection prevention and control.
Outbreak Response : Actively participate in outbreak investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement control measures to prevent further spread of infections.
Compliance : Ensure compliance with infection control regulations and guidelines. Stay updated on current infection control practices and guidelines.
Data Collection and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of infection control data. Prepare and submit reports as required by regulatory agencies.
Risk Assessment : Conduct risk assessments related to infection control and develop strategies to minimize the risk of infections within the nursing home.
Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control. Identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
Qualifications :
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in the state of New York.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing, with a focus on infection control.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to infection control.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
