Job Summary
Teach the theory, skills, and / or clinical portions of the Nurse Assisting program. Required Qualification(s)
- Associate’s degree, Registered Nurse in Illinois AND must have completed an approved IDPH Train the Trainer, Alzheimer AND Manual Skills Evaluator Course.
- Instructors need to be approved by the IDPH prior to teaching.
- Valid CPR card.
- Ability to lift, push or carry 50 pounds or over.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities;
- demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities;
establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Desired Qualification(s)
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
- One (1) year experience teaching in an accredited nurse’s or nurse assisting training program.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively communicating with a diverse student body.
Summary of Essential Functions
- Teach the theory, skills, and / or clinical portions of the Nurse Assisting program.
- Prepare class lectures and lesson plans.
- Grade student work.
- Assign final grades.
- Complete required administrative tasks.
- Observe safety protocols related to lab / clinical setting.
