Position Description : You will serve as an integral member of the operating room team providing supportservices to surgeons and all other Operating Room staff.
They are committed to superior customer service while actively assisting in daily operations and procedures in their local account.
The position reports to AccountSupervisors / Lead Technicians.
- In Operating Room : Models a high standard of performance to staff and peers
- Understands procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of surgeons, while ensuring
- high level of service to staff during the operative procedure
- Ensures the maintenance of the sterile field
- Demonstrates a high caliber of skill in : oPre-operative setupoIntra-operative technical and customer supportoPost-operative turnoveroEquipment maintenance and repair management
- Maintains high standards for decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilizationof surgical instruments.
- At the end of each day, makes sure no instruments are left to be decontaminated, inspected,assembled, wrapped and / or sterilized.
- Maintains all laparoscopic equipment and replaces as needed, process repairs for instrumentsand scopes
- Maintains current preference cards for surgeons
- Maintains a professional level of service, behavior, and communication with companyteam members, hospital, and OR staffIn the hospital,
- Works closely with the endoscopy techs, nurses, and surgeons to ensure that each surgeon has available to them his / her preferred model scope and other instrumentation / equipment for all standard and specialty Procedures
- Allows for a smooth transition when the surgeon working in a room completes his / her cases and the next surgeon arrivesRequirements :
- Education : High school diploma / GED required.
- Certifications : Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) for certified states or must obtain CRCST certification within 90 or 120 days of employment for non-certified states.
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) a plus.
- Outstanding customer service skills, ability to build and maintain strong rapport with hospital teams.
- Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Possess excellent leadership skills; ability to effectively build teams and direct the work of others.
- Ability to anticipate needs quickly and accurately, and appropriately respond.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Availability for 24 / 7 hospital coverage including weekday, weekend, and holiday rotational scheduled and on-call shifts.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (i.e., eye protection, gloves, shoe covers, surgicalhead covering, and gown) is required.
