Do you have the ability and desire to provide effective instruction in Catholic theology and social justice? Bishop Dunne Catholic School is seeking a Middle School Theology Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year, starting in August 2024.
Bishop Dunne is the only Catholic diocesan school that enrolls students in grades six through twelve. The Bishop Dunne student body mirrors the diversity of Dallas, with over 75% identifying as students of color, and approximately half the students are Catholic.

Job Requirements :
The candidate will be a faith-filled, dedicated professional who understands the joys and demands of teaching and is able to design daily lessons that meet the goals of the classes, complete grading, maintain an advisory group and lead advisory group meetings, as well as perform all basic administrative duties (ex.
maintain attendance records, accurate grade book, comment writing). Our teachers are fully engaged in the life of the school and inspire students to reach their potential.
Education / Experience Requirements :
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 12 credits in education or a valid Texas teaching certificate
- Special Requirement : The Theology teacher must be a practicing Catholic.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal communications skills; competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
- Solid technology skills for use in instructional and professional tasks.
Hours : Monday Friday, 7 : 45 to 4 : 00 , after school hours as required
Reports to : Assistant Principal
General Duties :
The mission of the Catholic school is to Teach as Jesus did, thereby mandating teachers in our schools to be reflections of Christ’s love and concern.
The Classroom Teacher plans, guides, and evaluates the learning process of students. This position reports to the assistant principal and has decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
