Corporate Controller Walled Lake, MI
The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and will manage a team of employees. This position directs and prepares financial analyses of the Company including financial statements for the use by management and company leadership.
The Controller is responsible for financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
The position involves supervision over General accounting, Accounts Payable / Receivable and Payroll.
- Development, analysis, and interpretation of financial accounting information to appraise operating results and performance against budget / forecast.
- Responsible for the timely preparation of GAAP financial statements.
- Supports fiscal standards and reporting processes for operating business units.
- Overseeing the organization’s daily accounting functions.
- Managing the accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.
- Works with executive team to guide the organization’s financial decisions.
- Communicating regularly with (and often reporting to) the CFO.
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
- Coordinating activities of external auditors.
- Managing budgets across all departments.
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Developing and monitoring financial performance metrics.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
- Hiring, training, and retaining accounting staff.

Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance OR Similar.
- MBA, CPA, CGMA or CMA.
- 7+ years of financial / accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
