JOB DETAILS :
We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced content writer to join our in-person team based in Austin, TX.
You would provide expert support for our Large Language Model (LLM) and Generative AI initiatives. As a Trust & Safety content writer, you will play a key role in enhancing the linguistic capabilities of our AI systems, ensuring accurate and contextually appropriate language generation.
This is a critical position that requires finessing language to compose and edit thoughtful responses that provide useful information for users while dealing with incendiary or difficult-to-talk-about content .
For this role, you will also need a firm understanding of content writing, natural language processing, linguistics, and machine-learning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content moderation and creation, linguistic research, editing, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.
Tasks will need to be performed on a client-owned platform, which will be provisioned by the client.
Qualifications and Skill Set
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred.
Strong command of the English Language (Writing and Speaking).
More than 5 years of professional experience writing, proofreading, and editing high-quality content in various genres, styles, and formats, such as news, features, social media, or marketing copy.
Experience following a style guide and editing to a specific voice and tone.
Experience drafting press releases, speeches, or social media posts on culturally sensitive topics is particularly desirable.
Understanding of AI technology, machine-learning, natural language processing, and a keen interest in exploring their potential applications with AI-generated content.
Excellent research, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify patterns, trends, and insights from data.
Passion for language, creativity, and innovation.
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to reason through problems systematically.
Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
Familiarity working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
Draft and edit responses to user queries pertaining to sensitive content (see examples below).
Ensure that summaries do not negatively affect the welfare of people or the well-being of society.
Edit and enhance content for clarity and correctness per guidelines.
Review summaries to ensure 100% quality and usability for model training.
Collaborate with the client’s product team and other stakeholders.
Ensure alignment with project requirements while calibrating with program stakeholders.
Develop training content and define guidelines to address any gaps in documentation.
Conduct linguistic research and analysis to identify and address language-related challenges and improve the performance of AI systems.
Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow writers as needed.
Help foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
