Position Purpose
The central purpose of the Senior Maintenance Technician - Aviation (SMT) position is to ensure that all aircraft maintenance operations are conducted safely, comply with all International, Federal, and State regulations, conform to company standard operating procedures and operational specifications, and deliver world class services that delight customers.
The SMT is a leadership position that plays a critical role in advancing the strategic imperatives of the Aviation function while ensuring its' vision, mission, and values are upheld.
The SMT assists the Director of Maintenance Operations (DOM) in providing day-to-day leadership and motivation for the maintenance team and ensuring they have the required tools and resources to safely, efficiently and effectively deliver technical and operational performance that is second to none.
- Ensures all maintenance operations comply with regulations and company policies
- Assists with the management, development, and improvement of maintenance operational safety systems
- Co-chairs the Encompass Health Aviation Standards Committee
- Assists in administering Line Operations Safety Assessments for all maintenance personnel
Qualifications
- Education : Bachelor's degree preferred; CAM certificate preferred; Associates degree or equivalent FAR Part 91 Maintenance Operations experience required
- Licenses : FAA Airframe and Power Plant license required; Inspection Authorization (IA) certification desired; valid driver's license required
- Five (5) years of experience as an A&P on turbo-jet aircraft in either a corporate FAR Part 91 or FAR Part 145 aviation setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced aircraft systems and avionics
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
