Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Portfolio Implementation, this position will work closely with all members of the Portfolio Implementation and Portfolio Management ( PM ) team to support department responsibilities such as internal analysis, portfolio review, client reporting, weekly rebalance optimization process, and business development efforts.
The successful candidate will play an increasingly important role in streamlining foundational processes, workflows, and systems to support portfolio implementation and analysis process.
This role offers a successful candidate the opportunity for exposure to most aspects of an institutional money management firm.
In addition to Portfolio Management, the position will touch on aspects of Research, Trading, Operations, Information Technology, and Relationship Management, working on both standard duties as well as ad hoc projects.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Support for all aspects of the Portfolio Implementation function
- Work with PM to optimize trade lists for the weekly rebalance of portfolios
- Identify opportunities to adapt workflows in an operationally efficient manner
- Participate in quality assurance for new technology resources
- Perform ad-hoc portfolio analysis to provide insights related to portfolios shifts
- Prepare performance and attribution reports for client reporting
- Assist in reviewing and maintaining client guidelines
- Aid the PMs in a variety of business development efforts such as updating key portfolio characteristics for clients and prospects
- Assist in preparing for the monthly Portfolio Review Committee meeting
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance or related field
- 1-2 years’ experience in Investment Management or related field; internship experience in a related field is acceptable
- Creative and curious mindset and eagerness to think outside of status quo
- Technical knowledge preferred (Python, R, VBA, Bloomberg, CIQ)
- Expert Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Highly organized team player, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and strong work ethic
- Crisp and clear written and verbal communication skills
- Possess the ability to find information and data promptly
- Demonstrated success in process and project management skills
- Ability to work under time pressure and multi-task
This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, CA which requires weekly attendance.
