Position Overview
Navistar Procurement has an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing and Readiness Team Lead. As a working team lead, you will lead, mentor and support a team of 4 sourcing and readiness managers as we drive towards quality execution and on time New Product Launches.
You will also be responsible for assigned direct material categories managing all Purchasing activities, from initial part release through new program launch.
This includes quoting and sourcing per the predefined category strategy and managing your supplier readiness and component industrialization from tool kick off through program launch You and your team will be responsible for delivering against the key program objectives in terms of timing, total cost, and quality.
This is a highly visible, very challenging and rewarding position in a supportive, fast paced environment. Responsibilities Support & mentor team members.
Manage Team metrics and performance goals. Build relationships with cross functional teams, vendors, and management. Interact with vendors and cross functional teams to source products, per the CMT strategy, that meet both the cost, timing, and quality targets for the program.
Negotiate cost, tooling, and timing, to ensure program targets are met Create and monitor supplier implementation plans to align with program expectations.
Anticipate and triage potential problems. Be proactive and manage changes to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
Manage tight deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment. Drive initiatives that support the team with activity tracking and early risk identification.
Regularly report on your team’s status with respect to various programs. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree At least 8 years of purchasing / procurement experience At least 2 years of management experience OR Master's degree At least 6 years of purchasing / procurement experience At least 2 years of management experience OR At least 10 years of purchasing / procurement experience At least 2 years of management experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
